A Fun Pre-Cruise Itinerary from Vancouver: Discovering Victoria, Vancouver and Beyond
There’s no better way to kick off your cruise than with a few days of exploration in beautiful British Columbia. Whether you’re setting sail from Vancouver or disembarking in Vancouver, a pre or post cruise adventure through Victoria and Vancouver offers the perfect blend of stunning scenery, charming towns, and unforgettable experiences. From the lush gardens of Victoria to the coastal views of Vancouver, here’s an itinerary that’ll make your trip one to remember.
Day 1: Victoria – A Day of Beauty and Charm
Morning:Start in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, and begin your day with a visit to one of Canada’s most beloved attractions: Butchart Gardens. This stunning 55-acre garden is a floral paradise, with vibrant blooms throughout the year. Grab a coffee or tea at the entrance and enjoy a leisurely scroll through the Sunken Garden, Japanese Garden, and Rose Garden, and don’t forget your camera—the views here are nothing short of magical.
Lunch:Head to Fisherman’s Wharf for lunch at Barb's, a local seafood spot famous for its mouthwatering fish and chips. Order the crispy fish wrapped in newspaper with the Poutine fries and enjoy it while taking in the lively atmosphere of the floating houses along the wharf. Keep an eye out for seals and harbor life—it’s a quintessential Victoria experience! Just a short drive a way you can stop at Red Fish Blue Fish for another Fish and Chip experience. My personal fave was Red Fish Blue Fish, but I'm very glad we experienced both local spots for amazing Fish and Chips.
Afternoon:After lunch, head over to the Malahat SkyWalk, where you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping views of Victoria's Island’s forests and coastline. The walkway takes you through towering trees and leads up to a spectacular sky bridge with panoramic views of the Saanich Peninsula and beyond. It’s the perfect spot for some nature therapy before you continue your journey. After enjoying the breathtaking views at the top of the tower, enjoy the slide to the bottom!
Day 2: Ferry to Vancouver – Exploring the Urban Wonders
Morning:Catch an early morning ferry from Victoria to Vancouver. The scenic journey across the Strait of Georgia offers panoramic views of the coast and nearby islands. Once you arrive in Vancouver, you’ll be greeted by the city’s stunning skyline and mountains in the background—get ready for more adventure!
Lunch:Head straight to Granville Island, one of Vancouver’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Start with a visit to the Public Market, where you can sample everything from local cheeses and fresh produce to baked goods and artisanal snacks. Be sure to grab lunch from one of the market’s many food vendors, whether you’re craving sushi, gourmet sandwiches, or fresh seafood.
Afternoon:After your food adventure, take some time to explore the quirky shops and galleries that make Granville Island unique. You can also catch a performance at the Granville Island Theatre or simply enjoy the laid-back, creative vibe of the area.
Evening:As the sun sets, rent a bike and head to Stanley Park. It’s one of Vancouver’s most iconic spots, and cycling around its Seawall gives you an unbeatable view of the city and ocean. Don’t forget to stop by Brockton Point to see the famous Totem Poles and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. Finish your day with dinner at Anh and Chi Vietnamese in Vancouver.
Day 3: West Vancouver Adventures – City meets Nature
Morning:Start your day with a visit to West Vancouver and make your way to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This treetop adventure is one of Vancouver’s most famous landmarks, offering a thrilling walk across a suspension bridge that spans 137 meters across the Capilano River. The surrounding rainforest is breathtaking, and the park’s cliffwalk offers even more incredible views.
Lunch:After your morning adventure, head to Horseshoe Bay and grab a light snack at Goldie's Donuts while exploring the marina. These were the most amazing donuts we have ever had, and who doesn't like a cute Golden Retriever mascot?
Afternoon:Drive along the Sea to Sky Highway, one of the most scenic drives in the world. The route takes you along the coast, with stunning views of mountains, forests, and the Pacific Ocean. Stop at Shannon Falls Provincial Park to admire the majestic 335-meter waterfall and take a short walk to the viewpoint. From this point, you can take a scenic walk over to the Sea to Sky Gondola. Or if you are not up for walking, you can take a short drive and park there. At the base near the check in counter, we encountered an ice cream truck and this was the best ice cream cone I have ever had. Grab an ice cream cone, get on the gondola, and take in the views of Howe Sound and the Stawamus Chief Mountain. Once you reach the top, you can start hiking or enjoy a meal at the restaurant overlooking the stunning mountains and sea.
Evening:What a beautiful adventure and your cruise hasn't even started yet! Enjoy dinner near a seaside town and make sure you are packed and ready for your next adventure to Alaska!
With a perfect mix of coastal beauty, natural wonders, and city exploration, this pre-cruise itinerary offers a little something for everyone. From the vibrant gardens of Victoria to the breathtaking landscapes of Vancouver, this journey will leave you relaxed, inspired, and ready to set sail on your cruise. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or a foodie looking for the best local bites, this itinerary has it all—and it’s the perfect way to begin your Pacific adventure.

Maui, Hawaii
Chastity was instrumental in making our Maui experience a trip of a lifetime. Her experience and knowledge of the area helped us know exactly where to go and what to expect. Not knowing anything at all ourselves , made her expertise invaluable. What I appreciated most about Chastity was her availability and openness to answer ALL of our questions and her help in booking excursions. She helped us while we were on our trip when our whale watching excursion was canceled. She didn't miss a beat and scheduled one for the same day as the canceled trip! I have and will continue to recommend Chastity to everyone I know that plans to travel anywhere. I hope she plans to do this for a very long time because we have many more places to see! -Ava Wilhelm
Ireland Trip
“Chastity’s help was invaluable! We would definitely like to work with her on our next adventure!” -Shelle OBrien
DREAM vacation experience start to finish, so much thanks to Chastity with Vincent Vacations!!! I cannot recommend this company enough. Chas booked our Hawaiian vacation last year and I could not believe how seamless the process was. I was so appreciative of her attention to detail and her recommendations. They say Hawaii is expensive, and I suppose it can be, but Chas helped me plan a dream vacation within my budget and not once did I feel like I was missing out on anything! I got every experience I wanted, all within my budget. I absolutely loved the itinerary she put together for us and that saved me hours of time while we were in Hawaii. You will not work with a kinder and more intentional travel agent. She wanted us to have fun just as much as we did! -Lindsey Dodoo
Sandals Royal Curacao
We booked our sandals curacao vacation with Chastity Debro! She was so helpful with every question & concern! We had potential concerns about our departure with hurricane debby hitting miami & causing so many flight issues! Chastity was on the phone all day to try & navigate our next steps to try & prepare for any flight delays/cancellations. I would absolutely recommend & use Chastity to plan our next vacation, all we need to do now is decide where to go🤔🏝️🛳️✈️🌞 -Jared and Devon Keck
Grand Princess Riviera
Where do we begin? Chastity was fantastic to work with from the beginning of planning our trip to during our trip and even coming back home. She never had experience with our hotel and went above and beyond by researching everything for us to make our stay even better. She was so prompt in returning emails and calls and so organized at sending our entire itinerary to us. We stayed at Grand Princess Rivera and it was truly beautiful. The food was great, the rooms were very nice and the drinks were top notch. The environment was so peaceful and relaxing. It is a great resort for just adults wanting a trip but it is also very kid friendly as well. There is quite the variety offered at this hotel. The animal life is truly amazing on the property and one experience you won’t forget. We highly recommend this resort and highly recommend working with Chastity for any of your vacation needs! We are already in works for booking our next one! Thanks again, Chastity! -Theresa Schmiemeier

Aruba Vacation
Chastity Debro is amazing!! We booked a trip to Aruba. Another passenger on our first flight from OKC to CLT had a major medical emergency causing us to miss our connecting flight. Chastity did everything to try to get us out the same day, but when she was unable to do so she was able to get our trip extended an extra day and our flights home changed at no additional charge. She was fantastic through the entire ordeal!! -April Spurgeon
Family vacation to Dreams Natura Mexico
We recently got home from a wonderful vacation that Travel by Chas with Vincent Vacations booked for us. We went to Cancun, Mexico. She got us 2 really fun excursions. One to an island by boat, and another to Xplor park where we swam in a cave and zip lined. Our resort was amazing. She did all the work to find a good one that fit our needs. The process was so very easy for me thanks to Chas! She sent me an app to download and it had everything I needed to know. Thank you for making our vacation so fun and easy! Highly recommend her service and expertise. -Erica Bonner and kids
Puerto Vallarta-Villa Premier Boutique Hotel
We want to thank Chastity Lane Debro for helping us plan the perfect trip to celebrate our anniversary in Mexico. We are both from Mexico & visit our family there at least once a year but wanted to go somewhere we hadn’t been before.
Chastity was nothing short of amazing & overly helpful. I had been wanting to visit the town of Sayulita, Nayarit, which is about a 45 minute drive from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. I found the perfect Airbnb in Sayulita and Chastity worked around that to find the perfect adult only resort in PV for us. She was more than happy to coordinate our flights with my Airbnb reservation, allowing us to split our trip between the two places like we wanted. I never felt rushed or pressured & felt completely comfortable asking any questions because she demonstrated to genuinely enjoy what she does.
If you are planning a trip to PV & the idea of an uncrowned, smaller scale, but high end resort with amazing food & drinks, I highly suggest checking out Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Spa Romantic Getaway. It is walking distance to the Malecon so you can easily leave the resort and take a walk to town to sightsee, shop, enjoy tasting authentic Mexican treats among lots of other things, all while enjoying the ocean view. We couldn’t have chosen a better destination or a better travel agent to help us put this trip together. I can’t say enough how wonderful this trip was. Thank you so much Chastity!
-Manuel and Raquel Cabrales
Marival Armony-Puerto Vallarta

As a seasoned travel agent, I've seen firsthand how travel protection can be a game-changer for travelers. When you’re planning a trip, whether it’s a relaxing vacation or an exciting adventure, there’s always a lot to consider: booking flights, choosing accommodations, and deciding what to pack. But one of the most important aspects that many travelers overlook is travel protection. Having the right travel insurance can make all the difference in ensuring that your trip goes smoothly, even when the unexpected happens. From flight delays to medical emergencies, travel protection is an essential safety net that can save you time, money, and stress.
Before I dive into why Travel Protection is important, I wanted to include a link to a trusted Travel Protection partner I work with, Travel Insured. Save this Blog so you can access this link anytime, giving you peace of mind for your future travels. Click on the link below to view your coverage options.
When selecting travel protection, it's essential to consider your specific travel plans and needs. For example, if you are unsure if you can travel, make sure to pick a plan that offers, Cancel for any Reason. Always read the fine print and understand what is covered and what isn't.
As a travel agent, I always advise my clients to research thoroughly and choose a policy that aligns with their travel style and budget. It's also important to purchase travel protection as soon as you book your trip to ensure you're covered from the start.
Now let's dive into why Travel Protection is important and what do most policies cover. When choosing your coverage plan, look to see if the below is included and how much coverage do you get.
1. Unexpected Trip Cancellations This is where you will want to look for, Cancel for any Reason coverage. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, and sometimes, you may need to cancel your trip due to unforeseen circumstances—whether it’s a family emergency, illness, or something else entirely. Travel protection offers trip cancellation coverage, reimbursing you for prepaid expenses like flights and hotels, so you won’t lose money if you can’t go. Please keep in mind, Cancel for any Reason is only or a coveredreason, so read the fine print carefully.
2. Medical Emergencies Abroad Accidents or health issues can happen anytime, and being in a foreign country without the right medical coverage can be both stressful and costly. Travel insurance can cover medical emergencies, including hospital stays, doctor visits, and even emergency evacuations if necessary, helping you get the care you need without the financial burden.
3. Lost or Delayed Luggage Imagine arriving at your dream destination only to find that your luggage has been lost or delayed. It can ruin your trip, especially if you’re without essential items. With travel protection, you can be reimbursed for lost luggage and even receive compensation for necessary purchases if your bags are delayed for a certain period.
4. Flight Delays and Missed Connections Flights can be delayed for a number of reasons, from weather to mechanical issues. If you miss a connecting flight or your flight is delayed for an extended period, travel protection can help cover additional costs such as meals, accommodation, and transportation, ensuring that you don’t have to bear the full cost of the inconvenience.
5. 24/7 Support and Assistance One of the often-overlooked benefits of travel protection is the access to 24/7 assistance. Many insurance plans offer a dedicated support hotline that can help you with anything from lost passports to emergency travel arrangements, giving you peace of mind that you have an expert to turn to no matter what time zone you’re in.
6. Peace of Mind During Uncertainty Traveling can be unpredictable, and given the unpredictability of today’s world, having travel protection offers peace of mind. Whether it's natural disasters, political unrest, or health-related risks, knowing that you have coverage can make you feel more secure about your decision to travel.
7. Protecting Your Investment Traveling is an investment of both time and money, and the last thing you want is to lose out on the money you’ve spent due to an unforeseen event. Travel protection safeguards that investment, ensuring that if something goes wrong, you don’t have to bear the financial burden alone.
While it may seem like an extra expense at first, travel protection is a small price to pay for the peace of mind it provides. No matter where you're going or how long you'll be away, having travel insurance ensures that you're prepared for whatever might come your way, allowing you to focus on enjoying your trip rather than worrying about the 'what ifs.' So, before you pack your bags and head out on your next adventure, make sure to invest in travel protection—you never know when it might save the day!

The camaraderie formed among fellow travelers, fostered by the comfortable bus setting, transformed the tour from a sightseeing expedition into a shared adventure.

Ireland's rich history unfolded before us as we explored castles, ancient monasteries, and archaeological wonders. From the dramatic Cliffs of Moher to the enchanting gardens of Blarney Castle , each destination was carefully curated, offering not only a visual feast but a deep dive into Ireland's storied past. The fact that these visits were seamlessly integrated into the itinerary meant that we could focus on absorbing the history and culture without the hassle of additional planning or costs.

From the legends of ancient folklore to the political struggles of modern times, our guide's narrative painted a vivid picture of Ireland's multifaceted identity. Their passion for the country was contagious, creating an immersive experience that went beyond the surface level of tourist attractions.
In conclusion, my journey through Ireland with CIE Tours was a seamless blend of comfort, history, and camaraderie. If you're contemplating a tour that seamlessly weaves together comfort and exploration, a CIE tour to Ireland might just be the perfect choice.
