 Expedition travel doesn’t mean you have to “rough it.” Quark doesn’t operate traditional cruise ships - those large cruise liners holding thousands of guests. They operate small expedition ships, authentic icebreakers, and even a small exploration boat, each carrying fewer than 200 passengers. All the vessels are equipped with Zodiacs (inflatable landing craft) for safe, comfortable transfers from ship to shore, allowing Quark to reach some of the world’s most remote places. Quark’s ships will get you to the most isolated and breathtaking wilderness areas on the planet, safely and comfortably, whether you’re discovering the Arctic or Antarctica, or exploring the wilds of the Galapagos Islands. Expedition travel doesn't mean you have to "rough it." All cabins have exterior views, facilities en suite, flat-screen TVs and DVD players. Single cabins have one double bed. Twin cabins have one double bed or two twin beds. Triple cabins have one double bed or two twin beds, plus a third pull-down berth. There is one dining room located on the Lower Deck. If there is one constant at sea, it is that you’ll enjoy delicious meals on a daily basis. While meal times may change due to landings and wildlife encounters, you’ll always be served three meals a day.
The Observation Lounge on Deck 7 is a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy panoramic polar views.
Theater-style auditorium in the Main Lounge on the Upper Deck can easily accommodate everyone onboard, so it serves as the main lecture hall where presentations and movies are provided for your education and enjoyment.
The library is open 24 hours a day and no matter what your personal interest is, we're sure you'll find something worth reading. The Ocean Diamond collection includes books in multiple languages on wildlife, history, marine biology, ecology, and geology.
Located on the Captain’s Deck, gym hours are posted at the door, with facilities available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you forgot any essentials or need a little souvenir from your voyage, the Polar Boutique on the Main Deck is an onboard gift shop.
