Some of the top activities Costa Rica has to offer...
You want to visit Costa Rica! Awesome, we can help get you there. But one of the questions we’ll ask in helping you do so is what you’d like to see and do there. Relax? Explore nature? Seek adventure? All the above and more? Probably. There is just so much available, we’ll need to have a serious discussion on what your priorities are. To help we’ve put together a list of eight of the best activities to do during your visit. After reading let us know what’s on the top of yours!
8 Great Activities Costa Rica Has To Offer
1. Hiking – An activity that likely is top of mind when you think of Costa Rica and there certainly is no shortage of places to do so. Volcanoes, beaches, cloud forests – the choice is yours. Once that’s settled, think about the level of difficulty you’re comfortable with. These two things will help in the best recommendation. Additionally, it is suggested you consider guided hikes. Your expert leader will be able to provide general assistance and a trained eye to spot wildlife.
2. Surfing – Surfers from around the world frequent Costa Rica year-round because of its warm waters and waves. Choose your coast – Pacific or Caribbean, select your level of experience – beginner, intermediate, or advanced. We can even make some recommendations. If you’re in need of a lesson, they’re typically easy to find, even just by stepping foot on some beaches!
3. Snorkeling and Scuba – Wildlife sightings aren’t limited to land. There are 7,000+ marine species that can be found in Costa Rica’s surrounding waters. So, it is no surprise that it is on the top of the list for water activities. If you’re a snorkeler, think about if you’d like to do so by boat or shore. If a diver, we can help recommend dive sites. Just let us know your level of experience.
4. Whitewater Rafting – Costa Rica provides a stunning background for this adventure. There are a few areas that would be recommended if this is something you’d like to do. Beginner or advanced, let us know what intensity of rapids you’re comfortable with, and we can point you in the right direction. If the kiddos are up for the challenge, there are some options that are suitable for them too. It’s a great family activity!
5. Visit Waterfalls – Some of the most picturesque sights in Costa Rica can be found at its numerous waterfalls. After all, there’s something so magical about water cascading over a cliff to the pools below. There are plenty of options to choose from, just keep in mind a few things. Some falls will require a hike to access, entrance fees will vary, and some allow swimming while others do not. Also consider a guided tour if you won’t have access to a rental car during your stay.
6. Zip Lining – If you’ve Googled “excursions in Costa Rica” you’ve likely seen a picture of someone effortlessly flying over green canopy, rivers, and cliffs. It’s a very popular activity that can be found all over the country. You should expect a safety demo and a short hike. Then you’ll glide line by line, each getting a little longer than the one before. If you’re an adrenaline seeker this is a must do! If not, we wouldn’t recommend it. Do not invest money in something if you’re not 100% comfortable with.
7. Bird Watching – It isn’t unusual for people to travel to Costa Rica for this very reason. Some enthusiasts even build a whole itinerary around this activity. There is 900+ species and most often seen will likely be toucans, macaws, and hummingbirds. Because the country is so eco-diverse, make a couple of watching stops. Don’t forget your binoculars and camera!
8. Yoga – Yes, you read that right! Costa Rica is indeed a haven for yoga lovers. You could see or take a class quite literally anywhere – a resort, beach, volcano, or rainforest. If you’re a beginner, give it a try at least once. If you’re a wellness enthusiast and it’s your reason for travel, it belongs on your list. Think wellness retreat, group trip for your studio, location for instructor training or continuing education.
There you have it, some of the best that Costa Rica has to offer! Of course, there’s a ton more that isn’t listed, so if you have any questions let us know. If you’re ready to explore all that Costa Rica has to offer, please feel free to reach out!

The Certified Confidant designation is earned through Hyatt's Inclusive Collection Confidant Collective program — the official training and certification platform for one of the most prestigious luxury all-inclusive portfolios in the world. Earning it requires completing ten core Confidant Learning courses, passing each with a score of 85% or higher covering the full portfolio of Hyatt's all-inclusive brands including Secrets, Dreams, Breathless, Zoëtry, Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Vivid, and more — spanning Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and beyond.
For you, that means when I recommend a Hyatt Inclusive Collection property, I know the difference between brands, room categories, and experiences — and exactly which one fits your trip. Not every resort is right for every traveler, and this certification means I can guide you to the one that's actually right for you.
Certified Sandals Specialist
The Certified Sandals Specialist designation is one of the most recognized credentials in luxury all-inclusive travel. Earning it requires completing an in-depth training program covering every aspect of the Sandals and Beaches resort portfolios — room categories, destinations, inclusions, group experiences, and destination weddings.
The program spans 21 lessons across four chaptera covering everything from resort comparisons to booking strategy — and it covers both brands. Sandals is the gold standard in adults-only, luxury all-inclusive Caribbean travel. Beaches extends that same level of quality to family travel.
For you, that means when I recommend a Sandals or Beaches resort, I'm not pulling from a website — I'm drawing on specialized, brand-certified knowledge of exactly what each property offers and which one is right for your trip.
ALG Pro
The ALGVPro certification is earned through Apple Leisure Group Vacations — the nation's #1 seller of all-inclusive vacations and the leading provider of travel to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean. This specialist designation means I've completed an advanced multi-module training program covering resort brands, destination expertise, and booking strategy — and earned continuing education credits through the Travel Institute in the process.
For you, that means I'm not guessing when I recommend a resort. I have deep, trained knowledge of the brands, the properties, and how to get you the best possible experience — backed by one of the most respected names in vacation travel.
Outstanding planning and direction. Called on a whim, two days later I’m sipping a cool drink beach/poolside in another country. 1st class service brought me first class experience. The destination treated me like a king.No issues. The nice thing is, as a senior, Bre set my WhatsApp with her so I felt like , although 1900 miles away, I had a safety unmbrella over. Bre made sure I was covered for any medical emergency to have an critical path back home if needed. Bre , through general conversation my meal preference picked out for my flights! (Sliders were awesome). They already knew! That about covers a seemlessoperation. Thanks Bre, Yellowstone USA next. MFStone -M. Stone

Santorini without the stress — and a private black-sand beach your kids will never forget.
If you've ever tried to do Santorini with children on a cruise ship, you already know the chaos. The tender queues. The cable car that moves 1,200 people an hour on days when multiple ships bring in more than 10,000. The donkey path that isn't quite as charming when you have a seven-year-old who's already melting in the July heat. Santorini is extraordinary — and it's also one of the most logistically brutal port days in the Mediterranean.
That changes in summer 2026. Royal Caribbean is opening Royal Beach Club Santorini, Europe's first-ever Royal Beach Club, and for families cruising the Greek Isles, it might just be the single best addition to a Mediterranean itinerary in years.
Everything Is Already Sorted — And That's the Whole Point
The core experience is called the Ultimate Santorini Day, and it works exactly as the name promises. From the moment you step off the ship, transportation is handled. Your family gets a scenic ferry ride along Santorini's dramatic coastline, guided stops in both Oia (the famous blue-domed village) and Fira (the island's buzzing capital), and then time at the beach club itself — a private stretch of Santorini's iconic volcanic black sand beach that is reserved exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests on the days a ship is in port.
Included in the price: loungers, umbrellas, towels, Wi-Fi, an all-you-can-eat Mediterranean buffet with fresh Greek food — gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita — a Greek frozen yogurt station, and unlimited beer, wine, coffee, and soft drinks throughout the day. There are private changing cabanas. There's a DJ. And crucially, there are no age restrictions, so the whole family is welcome.
Day pass pricing is already live in the Royal Caribbean app. For a sailing in October 2026 on Explorer of the Seas, a day pass is listed at $284 per adult and $199 per child — with promotional discounts frequently available.
Why Families Specifically Will Love This
Traveling with kids in Santorini under normal cruise conditions is a high-wire act. The island's geography — steep caldera cliffs, narrow cobbled streets, limited transport — isn't forgiving for families with strollers, younger children, or anyone who just needs a moment to sit down with a cold drink. The Royal Beach Club removes all of that friction.
You arrive knowing exactly where you're going. Your kids can run on a stunning black sand beach with the Aegean stretching out in front of them while you sit on a shaded lounger with a glass of house wine. Lunch is already there. No scrambling for a restaurant in packed Fira. No worrying about making it back to the tender on time — transportation is coordinated as part of the excursion, with timings aligned to the ship's departure.
The three-stop structure also works beautifully for families. Kids who have a short window of cultural tolerance get their Oia photo moment and a scoop of Greek frozen yogurt — then the rest of the day is beach and sea. Parents who actually want to absorb a little of Santorini's magic get proper time in Fira and Oia without the usual chaos. Everyone wins.
Royal Caribbean Designed This to Beat the Crowds
One of the smartest things about the Royal Beach Club concept is how Royal Caribbean manages guest flow. Rather than sending everyone through the same bottleneck at the same time, the Ultimate Santorini Day uses a staggered, three-point arrival system — guests come ashore to different starting locations at different times, distributing the crowd across the island. For families who've previously had their Santorini day wrecked by a two-hour cable car queue, this is a genuinely meaningful improvement.
The beach club itself sits at Vlychada on the island's southern shore — about 15 minutes from Fira — at what appears to be the site of the existing Theros Beach Club, a well-regarded local venue. It's away from the most congested clifftop areas, which means the beach experience is genuinely relaxed, not just a different flavor of chaos.
How to Book
The Ultimate Santorini Day is bookable now for any 2026 Greek Isles sailing that calls at Santorini — and 2027 dates are already opening up too. The first ship arrives April 27, 2026 on Odyssey of the Seas, and sailings from Vision Class through Quantum Class ships are included, as are Celebrity Cruises guests.
Don't wait until you're onboard. Royal Caribbean's private destination experiences consistently sell out well ahead of sail date, and Santorini in peak summer will be no different. Cabanas and premium spots go first.
Interested in summer 2026 or 2027 dates? Ready to make this happen for your family? Fill out my trip request form or reach out directly at briana.capps@vincentvacations.com — I'll handle everything from finding the right sailing to securing your beach club day before it sells out.
When most people hear 'Disney World,' they picture strollers, character breakfasts, and children melting down in the heat. And honestly? That's fair.
But here's what those people are missing: Disney World without kids is a completely different experience — and it might be one of the most underrated adult vacations out there.
I go regularly, and I go without kids just as often as with them. Here's why adults-only Disney is something you should seriously consider booking.
You Actually Get to Do DisneyYourWay
When you travel with kids, the trip is built around their schedule. Nap times, meltdowns, height restrictions, and whatever character your 4-year-old is currently obsessed with.
Go without them? You sleep in. You rope drop the rides you want. You linger over a real sit-down lunch with a cocktail. You stay for the late-night fireworks without calculating whether a toddler will make it. You skip the stroller pace, linger over cocktails, and ride what you want instead of what someone else wants.
It sounds simple, but the freedom genuinely transforms the trip.
EPCOT Was Practically Built for Adults
If you haven't been to EPCOT as an adult, you have been sleeping on it. The World Showcase is essentially a curated international food and drink crawl wrapped in incredible theming. La Cava del Tequila, Tutto Gusto, Baseline Tap House, and Oga's Cantina are just a few of the spots worth your time — and none of them are really about the kids.
Disney has also introduced an elevated EPCOT lounge experience exclusively for guests 21 and up — cocktails, culinary creations, scenic views. That's not a kids' activity. That's a date night.
And if the timing is right, EPCOT's festival calendar has expanded to include more adult-focused events — mixology, late-night lounges, and chef experiences that feel nothing like the Disney people assume they're visiting.
The Nightlife and Dining Scene Is Genuinely Good
Disney Springs alone is worth an evening. Wine Bar George, Morimoto Asia, and The Edison offer dining, live music, and nightlife vibes well outside the parks — the kind of night where you combine a great meal with drinks and maybe live entertainment.
Inside the parks, dessert parties give you reserved fireworks viewing with bites and cocktails included. It's a far cry from hot dogs and churros.
The Right Resort Makes It Feel Luxurious
This is where staying on property as an adult really shines — especially at the Deluxe level. The Grand Floridian's renovation is now complete in 2026, making it feel refreshed, elegant, and ideal for a couple's trip or romantic escape near Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom Lodge is peaceful and immersive, with some of the best dining on Disney property — perfect for decompressing after park days, complete with savanna views and wine flights at sunset.
Staying on property also gets you Extended Evening Hours at select parks — meaning after the day guests leave, Deluxe resort guests get the parks almost to themselves. No crowds, lower wait times, the whole atmosphere shifts.
It's Genuinely Romantic
This might be the most underrated thing about an adults-only Disney trip: it's actually romantic. The theming, the fireworks, the attention to detail — Disney creates an atmosphere that's hard to replicate anywhere else. Fireworks cruises, spa treatments, and signature dinners at a resort overlooking the castle are the kinds of experiences couples remember for years.
Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, newly engaged, or just finally taking a trip that's just for you two — Disney delivers in a way most people don't expect.
When To Go (So It Actually Feels Adults-Only)
Timing matters. September, early November, January, February, late April, and early May are all great times to visit if you want fewer crowds and fewer kids around — just be mindful of school break schedules, which can sneak up on you.
The atmosphere during off-peak season is noticeably calmer, the lines are shorter, and the whole trip feels more like an elevated escape than a theme park marathon.
The Bottom Line
Disney adults-only trips aren't a niche thing anymore. They're one of the best-kept secrets in travel — and once you go, you'll understand why DVC owners keep going back year after year.
The magic doesn't have an age limit. It just hits differently when you can enjoy it at your own pace, with a cocktail in hand.
Ready to plan yours? That's exactly what I'm here for — as a travel advisor who has done this more than once, I know how to build a Disney trip that actually feels like a vacation for you.
If you love the idea of sleeping under the stars but aren’t thrilled about roughing it in a sleeping bag, there’s a perfect middle ground: glamping.
Short for glamorous camping, glamping blends the beauty of the outdoors with the comfort and style of a luxury retreat. One of the best ways to experience it is with Under Canvas, a collection of luxury safari-style camps located near some of the most breathtaking national parks in the United States.
These unique camps allow travelers to immerse themselves in nature without sacrificing comfort — making them ideal for milestone trips, romantic getaways, and bucket-list adventures.
What Is Glamping?
Glamping takes traditional camping and elevates it with thoughtful design, comfortable accommodations, and curated experiences.
Instead of pitching a tent and sleeping on the ground, glamping at Under Canvas means:
Luxury safari-style canvas tents
King-sized beds with plush linens
En-suite bathrooms (in many tents)
Wood-burning stoves for cozy evenings
On-site dining and curated outdoor experiences
You’ll still fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to incredible landscapes — but with a level of comfort that feels far more like a boutique hotel than a campsite.
Where You Can Go Glamping: Under Canvas Locations
One of the most exciting parts of an Under Canvas stay is that their camps are located just minutes from some of America’s most iconic national parks and outdoor destinations.
Near Yellowstone National Park
Stay just outside the entrance of Yellowstone and experience the world’s first national park with a completely different perspective. After a day exploring geysers, wildlife, and geothermal landscapes, return to your luxury tent for a peaceful evening under the stars.
Near Zion National Park
Surrounded by Utah’s dramatic red rock formations, this location is perfect for travelers who want adventure by day and relaxation by night. Hiking, canyoneering, and scenic drives make Zion one of the most spectacular places to experience glamping.
Near Grand Canyon National Park
