My Stay at Pixar Place Hotel – The Best New Disneyland Resort Hotel for Families & Disney Fans
🎥 A Pixar-Powered First Impression
From the moment I stepped into the redesigned lobby, I knew this wasn’t just a place to sleep- it was a fully immersive experience. The whimsical, Pixar-themed decor, colorful murals, and iconic characters like Woody, Buzz, Joy, and Sully instantly create a feeling of childlike wonder and creativity. We even got greeted by Bing-Bing from Inside Out right in the lobby. Joe Gardner from Soul also made appearances playing the piano near the front desk.
The hotel blends Pixar’s playful storytelling with the comfort and convenience of a deluxe Disneyland Resort hotel—making it a top pick for travelers who want immersive Disney hotel experiences with a modern twist.
🛏️ Rooms Designed for Comfort & Creativity
I stayed in a Premium View Room and was amazed by the stylish, contemporary design with subtle Pixar touches throughout. Think storyboard-inspired artwork, vibrant pops of color, and ultra-comfy bedding perfect for recovering after a long day at the parks.

🌟 Exclusive Disneyland Resort Hotel Benefits
One of the biggest perks of staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel is access to early theme park entry, which allowed me to get a head start on rides like Space Mountain. Plus, guests have access to a private entrance to Disney California Adventure Park, shared through the Grand Californian- hello, VIP treatment!
💡 Travel Agent Tip: These benefits are exclusive to Disneyland Resort hotels and can save you SO much in wait times during peak seasons.
🌊 Rooftop Pool, Water Slide & Fireworks Viewing
One of the biggest highlights of any stay will be the incredible rooftop pool deck. Families will love the Finding Nemo-inspired splash pad and thrilling water slide. Adults? Grab a lounge chair or book a cabana for ultimate relaxation or grab something to eat from Small Bytes. But the best part? Fireworks viewing from the rooftop- with synced music and narration straight from Disneyland Park. No crowds. No hassle. Just pure Disney magic under the stars.
🍽️ Where to Eat: Great Maple Modern American Eatery
The hotel’s new on-site restaurant, Great Maple, is a destination in itself. This upscale yet approachable spot serves modern comfort food with unique twists. Some of my personal favorites:
🥓 Maple Bacon Doughnuts
🍳 Truffle Eggs Benedict
🍟 Duck Fat Truffle Fries
🍔 Biggie Short Rib Burger
There’s also a grab-and-go café for quick breakfasts and coffee before heading to the parks. It’s a game-changer for early mornings.

I have always loved to travel though as many can agree, I did not get to do it very often. Whether it was a weekend getaway in the mountains or a week long trip to Disney, having a break from your normal day to day routine felt like a breath of fresh air. As I became an adult and had the ability to travel more and more, I enjoyed all the details that came along with it. From planning trips start to finish, researching and booking dining, and of course the journey of the vacation itself.
Today I find myself most enjoying cruises and of course, Disney but no matter the destination, I hope to be able to help others find new excitements and create unforgettable memories in their adventures.

The Beak & Barrel officially opened it's doors to the public August 29th, 2025. This new experience is a pirates themed tavern located at Disney's Magic Kingdom in Adventureland, right next to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Given the theming, it continues the lore of Pirates of the Caribbean: storytelling, immersive décor, cast members in character, atmospheric rooms (the Captain’s Quarters, the Mapmaker’s Room, the Mess) etc.
Whether you're a fan of cocktails or prefer non-alcoholic options, there are several interesting choices. Some fruity, some more complex. Definitely not just “theme park bar food/drink” in the bland sense. I tried both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options: Plunderer’s Punch was fun (especially with the souvenir skull mug, though pricey), and the non-alcoholic one Treasure Trove is creative and indulgent. I will say some of the alcoholic drinks can be stronger than others. The small plates are tasty and thematic. They’re not full meals, but perfect paired with drinks.
My Verdict: Is It Worth Visiting?
Short answer: Yes, it is — especially if you work it into your plan smartly.
Here’s how I size it up:
The Beak & Barrel delivers strongly on theming, novelty, and immersive experience. For many guests, those are exactly the kinds of memories that stand out.
It’s not a “must for everyone,” but for a decent segment of Disney visitors — especially repeat visitors or those seeking unique dining/entertainment — this is definitely worth doing.
If you’re staying at Disney property and have flexible schedules, you can likely make this stop without sacrificing too much of your park time. It can serve as a luxury interlude in an otherwise packed day.
Tips if You Decide to Go
As a travel agent, here are my “make it go well” recommendations:
Book early — Set reminders for when your dining window open (60 days). For Disney resort guests, try first thing in the morning, or even before opening time.
Know what you want ahead of time — Because of the time limit, have a rough idea of which drinks / small bites you want. Don’t spend the whole time deciding.
Go with smaller party sizes if possible — With large parties, reservations are harder; splitting up or staggering can help.
Plan in your schedule buffer — Account for travel time inside the park, walking, waiting, etc. Don’t squeeze this in tight with something else you must do immediately after, because you might run late.
Budget accordingly — Expect the drinks and themed items to cost more, especially with souvenir options. Factor that into your daily spend.
Don’t forget children/non-drinkers — The non-alcoholic drinks are good, and the atmosphere is family-friendly, so even if only part of your group drinks, the stop can still work well.
Disney’s Beak & Barrel is more than just a place to grab a drink — it’s an experience layered with story, atmosphere, and that signature Disney magic. While the time limit and higher price point may not suit every traveler, for many, it’s a worthwhile stop that adds something fresh and memorable to a Magic Kingdom day.
As a travel agent, I see this as an excellent option for guests who want to slow down, soak in immersive theming, and enjoy something truly unique beyond rides and parades. If you’re looking for a special way to elevate your trip — whether it’s a couples’ date night, a break for adults, or simply a chance to say you experienced Disney’s newest gem — Beak & Barrel deserves a spot on your itinerary.
