On day two we begin at the famous North Shore, well known for its 11 miles of beaches along the vast O'ahu coastline. The North Shore tour takes us to the historic Dole Plantation and through numerous world-renowned surf spots, where waves can reach as high as 40 feet in winter. Then it's on to the Polynesian Cultural Center, where we soak in Hawaii's remarkable cultural heritage.
Day three takes us first to the Punchbowl Crater, home of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, before moving on to a tour of downtown Honolulu that includes the state capitol building, the governor's mansion, the statue of King Kamehameha, and Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the United States.
Afterward is Pearl Harbor, the site of the United States' entry into the Pacific theater of World War II. On an expert-guided tour, we are transported to the events leading up to the Day of Infamy and the ripples emanating from it. From there, we get a up-close look at the military craft of WWII, including a tour of the U.S.S. Bowfin submarine and the U.S.S. Missouri battleship.
The fourth and final day of the O'ahu Explorer pre-cruise cruisetour begins on the South Shore and proceeds on a scenic drive to Byodo-in (a stunning Japanese cultural link in the lush Valley of the Temples Memorial Park) and then to Kualoa Ranch on the eastern coast of O'ahu. Kualoa Ranch is a working cattle ranch and a nature preserve, a place with heart-stopping cliffs and sunsets that you may have seen in many Hollywood movies.
The fourth day ends with a beginning: the boarding of Pride of America and embarkation on your Hawaii cruise vacation.

The following seven days take us to five ports of call around the islands of Hawaii. After cruising the deep indigo of the nighttime Pacific, we dock at Kahului, Maui. If beaches or golf interest you, you'll have no trouble arranging your personal itinerary for the day.
For others, there's no scarcity of shore excursions to take advantage of. Bask in the Road to Hana on the famed highway, treat yourself to the Authentic Taste of Maui tour in Wailuku, or get the greatest hits with the comprehensive Best of Maui experience. With 30 excursions to choose from, there's bound to be something for everyone.
The next port of call is at Hilo, a town profuse with flora, fauna, and historic architecture. A broad array of Hilo excursions are available to help you optimize the experience during your 10 hours at port. The Volcanoes National Park and the Land of Frozen Fire excursions afford you a look at Hilo's geologic wonders, the Mauna Kea & Rainbow Falls excursion takes you to the summit of Hawaii's highest volcano, and the Historic Hilo tour guides you through the town's wondrous landmarks. And that's just a few of the 17 available options.
The first of the final two ports of call before returning to Honolulu is Kona. We designed many of the Kona shore excursions to highlight the island's beauty. Visit the black sand beaches, go snorkeling amid coral gardens, explore the secret waterfalls of Kohala, and indulge in the scenery as you sample the iconic foods and coffee of the island.
To cap the cruise before looping back to the starting point, you have the luxury of two days at Nāwiliwili, a gorgeous harbor village and gateway to the island of Kaua'i. Choose from 16 excursion options to get the most out of your 33-plus hours at port. Maybe journey to Waimea Canyon, the largest canyon in the Pacific, check out the island's sacred sites or visit the filming locations of some of your favorite movies. And, to punctuate the experience, why not get the full luau experience with our Luau Kalamaku excursion?
