Norwegian Cruise Line Unveils Features for Norwegian Bliss
Norwegian Cruise Line announced its sixteenth ship in the fleet earlier this week. Norwegian Bliss will begin sailing Alaska and the Caribbean, with select voyages to the Mexican Riviera, in June 2018. With a two-level electric-car race track, an Aqua Park with two multi-story water slides, and an open-air laser tag course, this is not your average cruise ship.
Designed for the ultimate cruising experience, Norwegian Bliss is currently being constructed in Papenburg, Germany with a scheduled delivery of spring 2018. But you can take a peek at all the exciting features right now. Here's what you can expect on board:
Norwegian Bliss: Get Ready to Imagine Bliss
Imagine Exhilaration:
There's no shortage of thrills in store on board Norwegian Bliss. The two-level electric-car race track will be the first available aboard a North American-based cruise ship. Guests will be able to put the pedal to the metal on the longest competitive track at sea, running nearly 1,000 feet. Enjoy plenty of twists and turns with four speed settings for all levels of drivers, ranging from beginner to advanced.
If you prefer to race in the water, the tandem Aqua Racer slide is for you. Race friends and family side by side on inner tubes for more than 360 feet, with a translucent section that allows for stunning ocean views as you twist and turn your way to the finish line.
If sci-fi action is more your style, head over to the open-air laser tag course themed like an abandoned space station. The course comes to life day and night where friends and family can compete with state-of-the-art laser guns.
Imagine Sensational:
Get ready for an incredible lineup of entertainment options. Guests aboard Norwegian Bliss will be able to enjoy Tony-Award winning musical Jersey Boys, among other amazing evening options like The Cavern Club, where a Beatles cover band brings the magic of Liverpool to the sea.
Imagine Delectable:
Foodies and cocktail connoisseurs will have a plethora of options aboard the Bliss, including signature favorites and exclusive new concepts. A nod to the ship's home port of Seattle brings a full-service Starbucks® store on board. Sweets and treats will be served day and night at Coco's, a new à la carte dessert venue.
The Local, a new complimentary dining concept, will offer guests pub fare 24 hours a day. The District Brew House will serve 24 beers on tap and more than 50 bottled beers, along with bites from the adjacent Food Republic.
Norwegian favorites such as Cagney's Steakhouse and Los Lobos will also be on board, along with specialty dining concepts like Le Bistro for French cuisine, Ocean Blue for fine and fresh seafood, La Cucina for tastes of Tuscany, and Teppanyaki for Japanese hibachi. The A-List Bar will serve handcrafted cocktails, wines, and premium spirits.
Imagine Tranquility:
Revive and refresh at the ship's Mandara Spa, which will offer the ultimate pampering experience with 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon and barber shop, Thermal Suite, and Fitness Center.
The expansive Thermal Suite will include a vitality pool and heated whirlpool, experience showers, a salt room, steam room, and sauna. In addition to the luxurious spa, guests aboard Norwegian Bliss will be able to unwind in two private lounges: Vibe Beach Club and Spice H2O.
The new ship will spend her inaugural summer season sailing weekly seven-day Alaska cruises every Saturday from Pier 66 in Seattle, making her the largest and most innovative ship to ever seasonally homeport on the West Coast.
