Norwegian Bliss Makes Her U.S. Debut in New York City
Norwegian Bliss, the newest ship in the fleet for Norwegian Cruise Line, made her U.S. debut in New York City on May 3rd, marking the first stop on her inaugural tour. This marks the beginning of a month-long inaugural celebration with stops in Miami, Los Angeles, and Seattle, where she will be christened on May 30th.
The two-day inaugural preview in New York City allowed guests to explore the ship, sample Norwegian’s newest culinary innovations, and experience its amenities, which include the longest go-cart race track at sea, an open-air laser tag arena, and newly designed water slides.
Norwegian Bliss’ Godfather, Elvis Duran, and the cast from the Z100 morning show were onboard broadcasting live from the ship. Elvis Duran also brought on indie-pop band AJR for a special performance.
The excitement continued on the evening of May 4th with a performance of ¡HAVANA!, Norwegian’s original musical production. Following the performance, guests were treated to an exclusive performance by Grammy-award-winning singer Albita. Country fans were also treated to tunes by Camilla Rae and her band at Q, the new Texas Smokehouse Barbecue restaurant on Norwegian Bliss.
Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio, two of the original members of The Four Seasons, made a special appearance at Horizon Lounge in The Haven to celebrate Norwegian Bliss and Jersey Boys, the Tony-award-winning musical guests can experience onboard.
“Norwegian has been committed to providing our guests with the finest entertainment at sea and we have elevated this commitment by introducing Jersey Boys and ¡HAVANA! onboard Norwegian Bliss,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line. “It has been such an honor to have icons in the music and theater world partner with and join us on this inaugural tour.”
Miami is the next stop on the inaugural tour, with special guests including Elvis Duran and members of The Morning Show, hull artist Wyland, and celebrity car guru Alex Vega, who outfitted two of the Norwegian Bliss go-carts. Stay tuned for more of the celebration at sea!
