January 16, 2024
Once upon a time, it used to cost a small fortune if you wanted to cruise solo, as you were basically paying for the double occupancy cost of a stateroom by yourself. But no more, as Norwegian Cruise Line has come to the rescue with their award-winning Studio Staterooms where no single supplement applies!
And there’s so much more to cruising solo with Norwegian that just the cabin. In fact, Norwegian Cruise Line has continuously been voted the Best Cruise Line for Solo Travelers by readers of Porthole Cruise Magazine. Why? Let’s take a look!
Ready to start planning? Explore all Norwegian Solo cruises.
Introducing Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview & Solo Balcony
For the first time ever, Norwegian is introducing three new solo stateroom categories, including Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview and Solo Balcony for future sailings starting Jan. 2, 2024.
With the capacity of solo stateroom categories expanding from nine ships to the full 19-ship fleet, single cruisers now have more opportunities to visit bucket-list worthy destinations such as Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand on vessels which historically have not had this unique offering.
Solo travelers can also expect to pay less than a traditional double occupancy room.
Norwegian's Studio Lounge
Along with stylish Studio Staterooms, sailing solo with Norwegian Cruise Line also gives you private key card access to the Studio Lounge, that’s exclusively available to Studio guests. Here you can enjoy complimentary beer and wine throughout the day, relax with a book, watch the big-screen TV, or simply hang out while having a drink with your fellow Studio cruisers. You can also order room service from the Studio Lounge!

Solo Cruising Fun
If you’d like to mingle with other single travelers, Norwegian Cruise Line offers meet-ups for solo cruisers. Some ships even host a pub crawl, and there’s always a Friends of Dorothy happy hour. You can sip an umbrella drink as you lounge poolside, chill out at the Ice Bar or take a margarita tasting class. There will be plenty of time to pamper yourself at the spa, followed by enjoying broadway-style entertainment in the evening. Shore excursions will offer another fun way to meet up with fellow cruisers, as will participating in on board activities such as the ropes course and climbing walls.
And it doesn't matter if you’re traveling solo by choice, happen to be the extra person in your group, or just because it’s a better option for you and your friend, Norwegian Cruise Line makes single cruising so easy and enjoyable. Their award-winning Studio Staterooms are now available across Norwegian's full 19-ship fleet.
